Chapter 7:

Because all aspects had to be hidden, the so-called nanny car that Luo Tang sat in every day was actually arranged by Luo Cheng.

After finishing her part at the drama set, Luo Tang hadn't been home long when she received a call from Cheng Cheng. She answered while entering her house: "Hello?"

"Tang Tang, are you home?"

Luo Tang laughed a little, "I suspect you called at the right time, I'm changing my shoes."

"Have you looked over tomorrow's script?"

"Yes, I have," Luo Tang sank into her sofa, stretching her body. "Ever since the start, I've been making a fool of myself in front of Gu Yu. Tomorrow's scene with Su Yan seems to be the most harmonious yet."

"Yes, yes, congratulations, Your Highness," after teasing her, Cheng Cheng continued. "I'm calling because there's a problem with Shi Yin's dress for tomorrow's banquet."

"Hmm?" Luo Tang took the water handed to her by a servant, thanking them before cheerfully responding. "What's the problem?"

"Just now, the girl in charge of logistics called me saying she accidentally damaged the hem of the dress. She's usually on good terms with me but's now panicking and incessantly asking what to do."

Cheng Cheng spoke rapidly. "She seemed really scared, so I told her not to worry. Your Highness, could you pick a dress from your wardrobe?"

Remembering the girl, who was shy and likable, Luo Tang didn't see it as a big deal and nodded. "Sure, tell her to calm down, I'll bring a dress tomorrow."

Cheng Cheng's tone wasn't very surprised, her voice rising slightly. "As you command, thanks to the princess for this life-saving grace."

"Stop it," Luo Tang joked with a laugh. "All this talk of kings, queens, princesses, and princes, have you been watching too many palace dramas? Be careful, or next time you come to my house, I'll really make you knock nine times and kowtow thrice."

The two bantered as usual, and before hanging up, Cheng Cheng reminded her, "The dress is nude pink with a bit of shimmer. I trust your wardrobe probably has a hundred or so unworn dresses like that, but —"

Cheng Cheng suddenly changed her tone. "Your Highness, I hope you choose the cheapest one. If you bring out a dress worth hundreds of thousands, I really can't cover up this huge lie."

"……"

This suddenly reminded Luo Tang of the night Su Yan recognized her, and since then, she hadn't worn a watch to the set.

Luo Tang's mouth twitched. "Got it."

Early the next morning.

Luo Tang didn't have much to do in the morning, just a few shots of her head down doing homework in class or walking past the female lead with Shi Yin's girlfriends, looking haughty. But she was in an exceptionally bad mood.

The reason was that she casually mentioned the dress issue to Bai Xiangyi at the breakfast table and then said she'd have her help pick the cheapest one.

Luo Zhou started right then.

"Why bother, Luo Tang?" "What, are you playing a real or fake princess?" "Addicted to playing Cinderella, huh? Picking the cheapest? You're really gonna kill me laughing, hahaha."

— Such nonsense, spouting one after another from his mouth, non-stop.

That sloppy look! So infuriating!

Unable to bear it, Luo Tang argued fiercely with him, both leaving the house with darkened faces.

Her bad mood only slightly improved when she saw Su Yan.

In the afternoon, it was time for the dance scene between Shi Yin and Gu Yu, but a message completely brightened her mood.

"Damn Tang Tang," Cheng Cheng pulled her aside, lowering her voice: "I was just stopped by the assistant director, telling me there's a change in this afternoon's dance. It's changed to the full sequence."

"……"

Luo Tang's eyes widened, murmuring: "But the script..."

"They changed it!" Cheng Cheng was excited. "You're going to dance with Su Yan! Ah, mama's excited! Mama's crying!"

Luo Tang, doubtful: "…Mama?"

"You don't understand, I'm now a shipper of Shi Yin and Gu Yu, I'm set on this ship." Cheng Cheng stood proud.

Luo Tang: "…If you dare say this on Weibo, wait to be sprayed to death by book fans."

She's daring enough to ship anything.

……

The initial shooting location was still at the school, later moving to a five-star hotel ballroom set up in advance, with the scenery and extras all ready.

After changing into her dress and finishing her makeup, Luo Tang received unreserved compliments in the makeup room, almost floating away.

Before leaving, someone recognized the dress as a fairy-like Valentino worth about a hundred thousand. When asked, Luo Tang hurriedly said, "It's my agent! My agent is amazing! I don't know how she managed to borrow this dress for me!"

Cheng Cheng: "???"

Leaving a flustered Cheng Cheng surrounded by people, Luo Tang slipped away.

Su Yan was standing on one side of the ballroom. Luo Tang went to him to rehearse their lines, which ended quickly. The script then stated, [The actors improvise here, just freeystyling.]

"I didn't get this last night," Lou Tang pointed out, "Does ...... freestyling mean we have to do lip-synching or ...... "

"I asked, you have to talk all the time," Suyan said, "but I don't need to."

"……"

Meaning, Shi Yin keeps talking, but Gu Yu ignores her.

Alright, lowly Shi Yin.

Luo Tang let out an "Oh" and turned her head to look at the scene again.

She'd always seen these kinds of banquets in TV dramas and attended quite a few herself. Now, looking at this freshly prepared setup, she had to admit it was quite realistic.

Everything was ready. After shooting the scene of Shi Yin with her parents meeting and chatting with Gu Yu's family, it was their turn to dance alone.

Standing in the middle of the dance floor, Luo Tang heard the familiar command to start shooting, with Su Yan three steps away from her.

The overhead lights shrouded him in a soft halo, like some kind of filter. The pure white slim-cut suit made his face look like a crown of jade, lean and straight. Just simply standing there, it was as if he was glowing.

Luo Tang looked at him, her heartbeat unavoidably accelerating, which conveniently played into Shi Yin's excitement and joy at being invited to dance by her crush.

The dance moves flowed slowly and elegantly in the waltz.

Despite her excitement, Luo Tang had built up some resistance to his beauty after so many days, not losing her reason and remembering her job.

"Hey, how about that?" Luo Tang's almond-shaped eyes curved, her tone smug. "Gu Yu, I told you you would dance with me."

Su Yan's every move maintained the male lead's distant demeanor. His hand on her waist only occasionally touched her dress.

His handsome and deep features appeared exceptionally cold, indifferently saying. "I'm just forced to."

"Ya, why do you speak so harshly!" Shi Yin's easily angered character was really brainless, making it easy to act.

Luo Tang's face changed instantly. "Don't you know? Today many people wanted to dance with me, and I rejected them! How can you talk to me like this? Are you so unwilling to dance with me?"

Stupid lines, stupid performance.

In this scene, Gu Yu had few lines, and Su Yan only had one word left: "Hmm."

Then, it was Shi Yin's nagging.

"I don't know what to say… hey, do you know? I brought this dress today because the one prepared by the crew had some issues. Cheng Cheng kept saying…"

The girl looked up at him while speaking, her eyes filled with scattered starlight. Her nude pink dress was shimmering, highlighting her pale skin, and her exposed shoulders and arms were delicate and beautiful.

During the waltz, with his hand on her waist, the girl in front of him looked like a dream.

Speaking of this, Luo Tang suddenly remembered his advice. "Right, I still remember what you told me before, not to wear… such an expensive watch on my wrist," she couldn't help but slightly curl her lips. "See, I haven't worn it anymore! Aren't I obedient?"

Her voice was soft and sweet, like a small animal waiting for praise.

Su Yan's Adam's apple involuntarily rolled, slightly stunned, but at that moment, he suddenly heard the familiar stop command —

"Cut!"

Director Chen initially thought there were no issues with their performance, expecting to get it in one take. The scenes on the various monitors were very aesthetic, easy to imagine how stunning they would be with some post-production.

But as he watched, he felt something was off.

"What are you two looking at?" Director Chen was puzzled. "Luo Xiao Tang looking at Su Yan is right, but Su Yan, you can't look at her? Gu Yu dislikes Shi Yin, he can't wait to finish dancing and leave. What's with the deep eye contact?"

"…"

"Let's do it again! After the dialogue, Gu Yu, you're not allowed to look at her!"

"…"

Su Yan, known for his good reputation in the industry and rarely losing his temper or swearing, at that moment, felt like cursing.

Previously, he thought the most difficult scenes were action and fight scenes, but now they seemed easier than this.

This was indeed… a test of acting skills.

Luo Tang was still looking at him expectantly.

Su Yan stepped back, sighing.

He slightly bowed, one hand behind his back, and reenacted the gesture of invitation.

After dancing twice with her idol, Luo Tang felt as if she had been rejuvenated by several years, her heart returning to her girlhood.

This mood lasted several days, and soon, it was the night before the weekend again.

While removing makeup and changing clothes in the makeup room, Luo Tang overheard a group of assistants chatting.

"It's time to start broadcasting again, last week's response was so good, I wonder what about this time? I think it will be even better!"

"Yeah, only two episodes last week, and our drama occupied several spots on the trending list!"

"Speaking of…" someone called Luo Tang. "Xiao Tang, did you see a post saying, with your good looks and that name, they suspect you might be Luo Cheng’s richest daughter?"

Luo Tang froze: "Ah?" Who has such sharp eyes?!

But before she could respond, Liang Zi Yue, who had been looking down at her phone, suddenly looked up: "Luo Cheng's daughter?" Liang Zi Yue's eyes widened in surprise: "What are you thinking? Could Luo Cheng's daughter enter the entertainment industry? Does she need to?"

"She hasn't appeared in the media since she was six or seven, right? So secretive for so many years. Would Luo Cheng let his daughter enter the entertainment industry? What are you thinking?"

Luo Cheng's daughter who entered the entertainment industry: "……"

"We're just speculating, joking around…" The girls also thought the idea was ridiculous, although Luo Xiaotang was indeed stunning, and her name was just one character off, but that one character… was a world of difference.

As the others stopped discussing, Liang Zi Yue became more spirited: "Even if Luo Princess really entered the entertainment industry, do you think…" looking at Luo Tang, she slowed her speech "she be interested in a third female role in our drama?"

"…"

Luo Tang didn't know what to feel at the moment.

Liang Zi Yue's comparison did mock her, but the other person she implicitly praised was also her.

Liang Zi Yue hadn't finished boasting about ‘Luo Tang,’ "In my opinion, if Luo Princess really wanted to act, she would have directly landed in Hollywood, why limit her vision."

"Pfft……"

Luo Tang had been silent until the last sentence, which she couldn't help but cough at.

Liang Ziyue turned around, suspiciously looking at her: "What's wrong? Did I scare you?"

"No, no, I think you're absolutely right."

Luo, barely even a D-lister, Tang was truly trembling.

Can't you see, sister? You think so highly of me?

I'm really letting you down by not entering Hollywood.
